The Castle is fun to explore. The National Trust put on a year round programme of fun events for children and adults including zipwires for teddy bears, medieval encampments, battles between Saxons and Vikings, archery and dressing up in medieval costume.
The Model Village has plenty of games to play including croquet, large size Connect 4 and Jenga.
Corfe Castle is a great place to see the trains and in summer trains visit the station every 20 minutes. There is a small railway museum with Secondus the tank engine.
Great walks around the village include the walks up East and West Hill overlooking the Castle. Longer treks include East Hill to Swanage or use an off road bike.
In the Square there is a traditional sweet shop with sweets you don’t see elsewhere. There is lots of Famous Five material in Ginger Pop including lashings of ginger beer and lots of temptation at the bakery.
Nearby is the Blue Pool and the Wareham Bears collection, the Saxon Walls at Wareham, off road biking through the forest to Studland and of course Swanage and Studland beaches and watersports.
The Rex Cinema in Wareham and the Mowlem Theatre in Swanage regularly show the latest films.
Monkey World, Bovington Tank Museum, the Sea Life Centre at Weymouth and Splashdown Poole are all within easy reach and make a great day trip.
